Default Complicated Network Issue..

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with my wireless home network, I keep losing connection and low signal from the router... Now where shall I start..

About half a year ago suddenly my router's signal dropped on all the computers at home, still haven't been able to fix this, I've reset the router, I've also put it back to the factory settings, updated firmware etc. This isn't really the worst problem... Since 2-3 weeks ago stuff got worse, I sometimes lost connection randomly, everyone had problems with, although the odd thing is that we didn't have it at same times, it was random. I lost connection like every 2 hours orso, then I just had to remove my USB WiFi connector, and plug it back in, and everything was fine again. But now I installed Windows 7 few days ago...And I lose connection all the time, sometimes it seems the handle for 2 hours, but most of the time it disconnects me every 15-20 minutes, it has even been only 1-2 mins. What could be the problem here? I'm 99% sure it's the wireless router, and not the WiFi connector...Because I've reïnstalled the software from the CD, I also uninstalled it, and then only install the driver by letting Windows 7 look for the driver on the CD etc. So what could I do to fix the router?

I've also been thinking about just buying new hardware to put all the computers in a network here, but that would be pretty expensive I noticed, because I'd like to go for the PowerLAN. No more wireless crap then, although I have no idea how that works, I guess I'll still need a router then? Which one should I buy then?

Router: Belkin F5D7231-4 (v1000)
WiFi connector: Belkin F5D8053 (v4000)

Thanks for any help, appreciate it .

A few things off the top of my head:

Check that the router and/or your computer are not set to "search for a stronger signal" every so often.

The location of the router and the orientation of the antenna(s) can affect signal strength.

Get a Linksys router.

Probably interference.

Someone else's router located within a few hundred feet set to the same or an adjacent channel would do it. Solution: Coordinate with your neighbors to split up the spectrum so that no two physically adjacent routers are set within 1 channel of each other.

Appliances can also cause interference. Televisions, radios, refrigerators, and microwaves are common culprits. Did you get/move any appliances recently? Solution: Move appliances away from router and computers.

I once lived in a neighborhood with a pirate radio station that lacked the equipment to properly shield their signal, so it bled all over the spectrum and screwed with all routers for several blocks. Solution: Confer with neighbors, then send report to FCC.

Thanks for the help, but I'm pretty sure it's not looking for "search for a stronger signal", and the attenas I'm not so sure about...They kinda have to air the whole house to reach everyone (4 computers)...And is an amplifier an appliance? Because it's on top of an amplifier >.<....And there's 7 other wireless routers around, but there signal is all pretty low, could that cause interference? I know people who said they have 20+ other wireless routers in their area, and they have no trouble..

Yes, if it has electrical current running through it, it generates an EM field... Move the router.

Yes, if the signal is strong enough to detect, it's strong enough to interfere. Try changing the channel randomly or dividing the spectrum with your neighbors in an organized fashion.

Done that now.

Well, change channel? I don't really know what you mean by this, is it the thing from 1 to 11? Because it was on Auto, and I changed it to 6..

UPDATE: I noticed it happens alot more to me, then to the others in this house. I get it every 15-20 mins, if not more, while they have it like at max 3-4 times a day..

UPDATE2: I've connected to the router of one of my neighbours (which isn't protected, lol), at first every thing seemed better, eventually I disconnected after a while too. I'm starting to wonder if it might be my computer/WiFi adapter anyhow... As the others in my house don't seem to have alot of trouble with it anymore, like once or twice a day... But I disconnect every 15 mins, if not less . What should I do?...

If there's no real solution to do this, should I go for PowerLAN then? Problem is I have now idea how it works, and which to buy, can anyhelp help me out please?

BUMP?

Odd thing is also, when I D/C while playing GW, I can't seem to be able to reconnect, GW just sits there, frozen. The game is still running, but I can't move orso. And when I then close the game, and start it, I don't get the option to reconnect...(When I have reconnected my WiFi adapter, and have internet connection again)
